Cobalt Launches Heart Mind & Body Scanner Appeal

Revolutionising the diagnosis of heart disease, stroke, cancer
and other life limiting conditions.
Cobalt has launched the Heart, Mind & Body -
Scanner Appeal. Working together with Gloucestershire
Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust we need to raise £1million to
fund a state-of-the-art, specialist CT scanner for the
benefit of patients throughout Gloucestershire. The scanner
will be the only one of its type in the region with the ability to
revolutionise the diagnosis of heart disease, stroke, cancer and
other life-limiting conditions and will be sited at Cheltenham
General Hospital.
Benefitting more than 12,000 people a year, the scanner will aid
rapid and accurate diagnosis of a wide range of conditions in
addition to those above; brain pathology, traumatic injuries
and circulatory problems amongst them. Chances are you or
someone in your family will know one of these 12,000 local
people.
Quick and detailed imaging is key to diagnosis, leading to
appropriate treatment of all conditions. It is
particularly vital for stroke patients and those with acute chest
pain or potential heart attack, for whom time taken in diagnosis is
a critical factor.
HEART- Speed and accuracy of each scan will
change the way heart attacks are diagnosed and help more
people survive
MIND- Fine detail imaging will aid rapid
diagnosis, limiting the damage caused
by a stroke
BODY - The same speed, detail and accuracy will
lead to fast diagnosis of cancer and other life-
limiting conditions
We need to raise £1million by summer 2012, with your help we
can!
