PET/CT
Our PET/CT
department opened in June 2006, to both the public and private
sectors, and has already undergone several hardware and software
upgrades to ensure it remains state of the art. We provide the very
latest technology combined with the expertise of highly trained and
experienced medical and radiographic staff. Our department helps to
train many doctors for other NHS Trusts.
Our centre provides patients with a modern, clean, safe and
comfortable environment while our flexible, efficient and
responsive approach affords you a level of service clinicians can
depend upon.
Our state of the art Philips Gemini scanner provides quiet, fast
imaging with the highest quality and resolution, and is the only
"open" system on the market allowing a much more pleasant scanning
experience, even for highly claustrophobic patients. As such we
have had a large degree of success in scanning claustrophobic
patients (referred to us nationally) that have been unable to
complete their scans on other systems.
The centre provides a clinical PET service for referred patients
at a local and national level and performs clinically related
research.
Why have a scan with us?
The cost is one of the lowest of any PET/CT provider in the
country; it is £798 per scan. We keep the cost down by using
leading edge scanner technology, giving fast and effective results
allowing us to maintain our policy of no waiting for appointment
times and flexible appointments. We aim to provide the most cost
effective, reliable and accurate PET/CT service to the NHS and
private health sector. The scans are reported by our team of
experienced radiologists led by Consultant Radiologist Professor
Iain Lyburn who has many years PET/CT experience.
