Snowdrops at Colesbourne Park
On
February 18th and 19th, Cobalt will be at Colesbourne Park for the
Snowdrop Teas.
Described as 'England's Greatest Snowdrop Garden' it was started
by plant collector Henry John Elwes FRS with the outstanding
Galanthus elwesii. The collection has been greatly
enhanced in recent years by great-grandson Henry Elwes and his wife
Carolyn and is now one of the best in the country.
Visitors can walk through the ten acre garden with its woodland
and lakeside paths, the Spring Garden and the formal garden to see
huge banks of snowdrops, hellebores and other winter plants. The
surrounding park, arboretum and nearby church will also
be open.
On the weekend of the 18th & 19th of February, proceeds from
the snowdrop teas will be coming to Cobalt, in aid of our Heart Mind & Body
Scanner Appeal. Working together with Gloucestershire
Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we need to raise £1million to
fund a state-of-the-art, specialist CT scanner for the
benefit of patients throughout Gloucestershire. Benefitting more
than 12,000 people a year, the scanner will aid rapid and accurate
diagnosis of a wide range of conditions.
Gates will be open from 1pm, last entry is at 4:30pm. It costs
£7 for adults, children are free and dogs are welcome. There will
be refreshments and plants on sale on the day, call: 01242 870264
for more information or visit their website.
Please come along on the 18th and 19th of February and support
Cobalt - helping people affected by cancer and other life-limiting
conditions.
