2020 – An unprecedented and record-breaking year for Cobalt
As we welcome 2021, we look back at a very unusual 2020 but one in which Cobalt has supported a record number of patients working with the NHS throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
When the UK entered lockdown on 16 March, Cobalt’s Imaging Centres in Cheltenham and Birmingham provided vital additional capacity for more cancer patients who urgently required scans, enabling them to attend their upcoming appointments and continue with their treatment pathways.
Cobalt also redeployed four mobile CT scans to support NHS hospitals throughout England, including the Nightingale Hospitals. Working 7 days a week, and seeing nearly 4,000 patients every month. During 2020, Cobalt scanned over 100,000 patients, a 40% increase when compared to 2019.
Do you have an upcoming appointment?
We remain open and are encouraging all patients to attend their appointments if they do not have Coronavirus symptoms or have been told to isolate. We will provide a safe and secure environment for your scan.
