Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and at Cobalt, we’re dedicated to making a difference in the fight against breast cancer.

Since 1990, we have proudly supported breast cancer services in Gloucestershire, playing a pivotal role in funding the Thirlestaine Breast Centre. In 2019, we further strengthened our commitment by purchasing advanced 3D mammography equipment, enhancing the accuracy of early breast cancer diagnoses. Today, the Breast Centre performs over 31,000 mammograms annually and treats up to 200 symptomatic patients each week.

Cobalt has also committed up to £75,000 over the next year to fund breast cancer research nurses at the Centre, enabling critical breast cancer trials in partnership with Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

More Than Just a Gown—Kerry Pawley, one of Cobalt’s Senior Radiographers, has secured a £5,000 grant to design a cutting-edge gown specifically for patients undergoing breast MRI scans, with the goal of dramatically improving comfort and preserving dignity.

With your support, we can continue to enhance breast cancer services and push the boundaries of research: https://www.cobalthealth.co.uk/donation-form-funding-breast-cancer-research-in-gloucestershire/
