Cobalt opens gardens virtually
13th August 2020
We are launching a virtual version of our popular open garden scheme. Visitors to our website can tour a series of gardens including Highnam Court, Stowell Park and Quenington as well as a number of supporters’ gardens. Open gardens normally raise £10,000 for the charity so we are asking for a small donation to support our work as well as encouraging people to provide video footage and photographs of their own glorious gardens to share.
Julia Jenkins, Head of Fundraising, Cobalt said: “Supporters can enjoy a variety of stunning gardens as well as pick up ideas for interesting plants and features. We are asking people to visit our website, grab themselves some tea and cake and enjoy these wonderful garden tours from some amazing venues across Gloucestershire. We are then encouraging the donation of the entrance fee people would have paid to visit a physical garden or the money they might have spent on refreshments.’
Making a donation will help to fund Cobalt’s Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Nurse, Megan Willsher. Megan’s role ensures teenage patients are supported throughout their cancer journey and helps them move forward with their lives. The cost of providing this service is £28,000 per year.
