    Cobalt are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated senior radiographer to join our expanding MRI team working within the Imaging Centre in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and also at various mobile locations in the UK.

    We are a progressive medical imaging charity providing IQS accredited services from the unique Cobalt Imaging Centre in Cheltenham and through a World leading fleet of mobile MRI scanners, including Europe's first 3.0 Tesla mobile MRI service and the World's first digital broadband Philips Ingenia 1.5 Tesla and 3.0 Tesla mobile scanners. We are also a leading provider of MRI education, hosting 'MRI in Practice', the major international MRI course for radiographers.

    Working hours/days will be variable based on 37.5hpw.

    Full time posts desired, part time posts considered.

    MRI Trainee Post

    We are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated Radiographers who are keen to take the next step in their career specialising in MRI. The successful candidate will join our MRI Trainee programme supporting our team working within the Cobalt Imaging Centre in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and also at various mobile locations around the UK.

    The MRI Trainee programme is based at Cobalt Imaging Centre and offers a complete and structured education and development package in all the key areas of MRI; safety, physics and basic and advanced imaging techniques. The programme is delivered through supportive clinical working, practical and written assessments across all body areas and specialities, with challenging objectives and personal development plans. You will have a willingness to learn and work hard, demonstrate initiative and possess the ability to meet the challenges and deadlines of the programme. Some study time is provided, however there is an expectation that completion of some program objectives will require study  in your own time.

    As you advance through the programme you will benefit from rotation on the MRI mobile services at different speciality sites gaining experience across several new MRI systems with leading software and hardware platforms.

    Cobalt is a growing, innovative and dynamic medical charity that believes everyone should have access to the best imaging for their diagnosis. We deliver technologically advanced diagnostic imaging services from our QSI accredited Cobalt Imaging Centre in Cheltenham and through a fleet of mobile technologically advanced 1.5 and 3.0 Tesla MRI scanners

    This post is an exciting and challenging role. You will be managing equipment logistics, staff deployment and wellbeing for our Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) mobile operational services. Working closely with the CEO, MRI manager and MRI superintendents to develop and promote the charity’s mobile clinical imaging services to hospital sites and partner organisations within the NHS and private sector, in line with the strategic objectives of the charity.

    The role will primarily be based at the Cobalt Imaging Centre in Cheltenham with a requirement to visit hospital sites to advise and facilitate new mobile imaging services and to provide leadership support to radiographers.  The post-holder will have excellent demonstrable communication skills and recognise the importance of staff wellbeing.

    Cobalt invests in the training and education of future, new and experienced radiography staff, through partnerships with NHS trusts and universities and the provision of a diverse programme of continuing professional development education events for Cobalt staff, NHS staff and other medical professionals. We are also a leading provider of MRI education, hosting 'MRI in Practice', the major international MRI course for radiographers.
    We offer an attractive remuneration and staff benefits package to successful applicants with the appropriate level of skills and experience.

    This is a full time position and will require a flexible approach to working pattern and hours.

    Salary £46,000 to £52,000 dependent upon experience
