  • MRI Radiographer - Cheltenham based and mobile

    We are seeking experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated MRI radiographers to join our expanding MRI team working within the Imaging Centre in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and also at various mobile locations around the UK.

    Cobalt is a progressive medical imaging charity providing ISAS accredited services from the unique Cobalt Imaging Centre in Cheltenham and through a World leading fleet of mobile MRI scanners, including Europe's first 3.0 Tesla mobile MRI service and the World's first digital broadband Philips Ingenia 1.5 Tesla and 3.0 Tesla mobile scanners. We are also a leading provider of MRI education, hosting 'MRI in Practice', the major international MRI course for radiographers.

    We offer an attractive remuneration and staff benefits package to successful applicants with the appropriate level of skills and experience.

    Working hours/days will be variable based on 37hpw.

    Hobby Helpers - knitters, bakers, crafters, gardeners

    The Big Sort - support our recycled cards initiative and help raise over £30,000 for us each year

    Events - marshalls, refreshment servers, ticket admissions and photography as well as help us support our charity partner activities

  • MRI Clinical Lead Radiographer/Applications Specialist

    We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated MRI radiographer with a special interest in clinical applications to join our dedicated team.

    This post is an exciting opportunity to work within a challenging dual role.

    It is envisaged that approximately 60% of the post holder’s time will be working as the Clinical Specialist and 40% of time on secondment to Philips Health Systems (Philips) as an MRI Applications Specialist.

    The Clinical Lead commitment will be supporting the MRI department at the Imaging Centre and also the MRI mobile units housing Philips MRI scanners using the latest technology. The post holder will provide training and ensure MR system optimisation and utilisation as well as undertaking scanning sessions.

    The Applications Specialist role will be on secondment to Philips Health Systems and will include supporting sales, marketing and applications training at new installations around the UK.

    Philips Health Systems is a major international provider of imaging equipment in healthcare and has a strong partnership with Cobalt working collaboratively on many projects.

    Previous experience in a MRI applications specialist role would be advantageous however full training will be provided to the right candidate. Previous experience in a senior role with a special interest in system software and applications is essential.

    Working hours/days will be variable based on 37.5hpw.

  • MRI Trainee Post

    We are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated Radiographers who are keen to take the next step in their career specialising in MRI. The successful candidate will join our MRI Trainee programme supporting our team working within the Cobalt Imaging Centre in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and also at various mobile locations around the UK.

    The MRI Trainee programme is based at Cobalt Imaging Centre and offers a complete and structured education and development package in all the key areas of MRI; safety, physics and basic and advanced imaging techniques. The programme is delivered through supportive clinical working, practical and written assessments across all body areas and specialities, with challenging objectives and personal development plans. You will have a willingness to learn and work hard, demonstrate initiative and possess the ability to meet the challenges and deadlines of the programme. Some study time is provided, however there is an expectation that completion of some program objectives will require study  in your own time.

    As you advance through the programme you will benefit from rotation on the MRI mobile services at different speciality sites gaining experience across several new MRI systems with leading software and hardware platforms.
