  • PET CT Trainee Radiographer

    Due to an expansion in our services, we are seeking a trainee Radiographer to join our enthusiastic and highly motivated PET/CT team.

    Cobalt currently provides the NHS PET/CT service to a population of over two million from the Cobalt Imaging Centre in Cheltenham, scanning approximately 3,800 patients each year. The PET/CT Department also provides a CT service to approximately 1,800 patients. The Charity offers the latest in technology with a Siemens mCT Flow edge PET/CT scanner and and has also recently introduced a Cone Beam CT service, the Carestream Onsight 3D extremity CBCT system.

    A comprehensive training programme will be provided for trainee positions.

    The Charity participates in research and provides PET/CT training and education on a local and national basis.

  • MRI Senior Radiographer ITM

    MRI Senior Radiographer, Institute of Translational Medicine (ITM) Imaging Centre, Birmingham.

    Cobalt are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated senior radiographer to join our expanding MRI team working within Institute of Translational Medicine (ITM) Imaging Centre, Birmingham.

    You will perform MRI examinations for both clinical and research patients, providing professional, caring, high quality clinical scanning services and  ensure the privacy, comfort and safety of all patients who visit the ITM Imaging Centre.

    You will assist in the day-to-day organisation and management of MRI research projects; develop research protocols in accordance with project requirements and analysis of MR data.

    You will deputise the Superintendent Research Radiographer in their absence.

    Refurbishment projects - help us with the Fritchie Centre to improve gardens and lounge area for people with dementia

    You will be part of a great team responsible for arranging patient appointments for diagnostic imaging services.  You will be making and receiving telephone calls to and from patients, doctors surgeries, hospitals and other healthcare professionals.  You will be responsible for ensuring accurate input of patient data to the patient administration system.  This is a busy, varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys being part of a team and interacting with a variety of people both members of the public and healthcare professionals.

  • Radiography Assistant –12 month maternity cover

    Radiography Assistant - 12 month maternity cover

    You will be part of our team of Radiography Assistants working closely with Radiographers, Consultant Radiologists and Surgeons and other healthcare professionals.   The role is busy, varied and rewarding. 

    Your day-to-day duties will include:

    • providing reassurance to patients
    • carrying out patient safety screening checks
    • giving information
    • preparing patients for examination and accompanying patients to and from scanner rooms
    • making sure the working environment is clean and hygienic
    • helping to maintain equipment and reporting any faults
    • assisting with procedures
    • clerical tasks such as data input, image transfer, reception, post, ordering stocks of consumable items

    You will need experience dealing with members of the general public. Customer care skills with a confident and empathetic approach towards patients and their representatives.  Physical dexterity, co-ordination and sensory skills required for positioning of or handling patients. Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite. A high level of IT competency and capable of data input with accuracy.  Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.

    Be highly motivated and enjoy working as part of a team. Embrace responsibility with a pro-active attitude. Have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. Highly organised and attention to detail.  Appreciative of the responsibility associated with the role and an acute awareness of the need for confidentiality, discretion and trustworthiness. Reliable and good attitude towards attendance and punctuality.

    Flexible approach to working hours. Rota to include Saturday working and off site when required

    Competitive salary £17,000pa (pro rata) with  27 days annual leave plus bank holidays pro rata.
