    MRI Trainee Post

    We are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated Radiographers who are keen to take the next step in their career specialising in MRI. The successful candidate will join our MRI Trainee programme supporting our team working within the Cobalt Imaging Centre in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and also at various mobile locations around the UK.

    The MRI Trainee programme is based at Cobalt Imaging Centre and offers a complete and structured education and development package in all the key areas of MRI; safety, physics and basic and advanced imaging techniques. The programme is delivered through supportive clinical working, practical and written assessments across all body areas and specialities, with challenging objectives and personal development plans. You will have a willingness to learn and work hard, demonstrate initiative and possess the ability to meet the challenges and deadlines of the programme. Some study time is provided, however there is an expectation that completion of some program objectives will require study  in your own time.

    As you advance through the programme you will benefit from rotation on the MRI mobile services at different speciality sites gaining experience across several new MRI systems with leading software and hardware platforms.

  • CT Superintendent Radiographer - predominantly based in the North of the UK

    We are seeking an experienced CT Radiographer for an exciting role predominantly based in the North of the UK.

    This post is an exciting and challenging role.  You will be look after the day to day management of the mobile CT service for the Manchester Lung Screening Service using the latest Siemens CT technology, working with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. You will be responsible for all aspects of the imaging service including activity, radiation safety and supervising imaging staff. You will ensure a safe reliable and efficient CT service is maintained.

    When not not being used for Lung Screening, you will support a mobile CT service for other NHS Trusts and hospitals.

    The role will primarily be based in the North of the UK. You will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, confidently able to communicate and liaise with staff at all levels and the ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

    Cobalt invests in the training and education of future, new and experienced radiography staff, through partnerships with NHS trusts and universities and the provision of a diverse programme of continuing professional development education events for Cobalt staff, NHS staff and other medical professionals.

  • Senior Clinical Imaging Assistant

    Cobalt is a growing, innovative and dynamic medical charity delivering technologically advanced diagnostic imaging services to the NHS and private sector across the country.

    In this exciting role you will be reporting to the MRI Department Manager and Superintendents to develop and manage an efficient and safe workflow for a team of radiography assistants.

    You will:

    • support training and supervision of radiography assistants and to ensure effective communication of policy, procedure and workflow processes meeting departmental and legal standards
    • oversee delegation of responsibilities to radiographic assistants and monitoring performance
    • carry out a wide range of duties including assisting radiographers and healthcare professionals in delivering safe, effective, caring and responsive patient care
    • provide physical and emotional support and reassurance to patients attending the Imaging Centre for diagnostic imaging examinations maintaining patient privacy and dignity
    • assist radiographers in manoeuvring patients and equipment and escorting patients to and from static and mobile scanners
    • accurately input data, conduct data sharing and image transfer

  • Clinical Imaging Assistant

    Cobalt is a growing, innovative and dynamic medical charity delivering technologically advanced diagnostic imaging services to the NHS and private sector across the country.

    You will be part of our team of clinical imaging assistants working closely with radiographers, consultant radiologists and surgeons and other healthcare professionals.   The role is busy, varied and rewarding.  Your day-to-day duties will include:

    • providing reassurance to patients
    • carrying out patient safety screening checks
    • giving information
    • preparing patients for examination and accompanying patients to and from scanner rooms
    • making sure the working environment is clean and hygienic
    • helping to maintain equipment and reporting any faults
    • assisting with procedures
    • clerical tasks such as data input, image transfer, ordering stocks of consumable items
