Cobalt’s first ever charity patron
Local medical charity Cobalt have announced their first ever charity patron, Clive Richards OBE KSG DL.
Clive and his wife founded The Clive and Sylvia Richards Charity in 1987. The focus of the Charity is to support education, healthcare, heritage, arts, religious institutions and overseas education and religious institutions. Clive was awarded the OBE for Charity in 2000. He has been a long term supporter of Cobalt.
He said ‘I have been committed for many years to charitable causes where financial support makes a real difference. In my role as Patron I hope to be a catalyst to help unlock other funding sources and ensure support for this innovative and transformative charity.’
He recently helped to support Cobalt during their Big Give campaign, helping raise money for the Gloucestershire breast equipment appeal. The Big Give is a national campaign of ‘match-giving’ to charity, enabling the public to double donations made online over a seven-day period. The Clive and Sylvia Richards Charity kindly provided the match funding. They also supported Cobalt in the development of the purpose-built Institute of Translational Medicine (ITM) Imaging Centre.
