Make a Will Month

During April, local partnering solicitors will waive their fees for writing a will in lieu of a donation to Cobalt.

The minimum donation for a basic single will is £150 and for a pair of basic mirror wills it is just £200 – this is a fraction of what you would typically pay for this service.

The scheme is designed around writing or updating a straightforward will. If you think your will might be more complicated, please discuss this with the solicitor in advance of your appointment to check if there will be any further cost implications. By using Cobalt’s make a will month scheme, your donation will help us to continue our pioneering cancer and dementia diagnosis and research work.

When planning your new will, once you have looked after your loved ones, please do consider including a gift to Cobalt – even a small percentage of your estate could help to make a big difference for future generations.

If you would like more information on the scheme or if you are considering including a gift to Cobalt in your will, and would like to discuss it, please call 01242 535922 or email fundraising@cobalthealth.co.uk.

Whilst there is no obligation to include Cobalt as a beneficiary in a will made through this scheme, gifts in wills provide a vital source of income to Cobalt. Gifts do not need to be large, once family and friends are taken care of, you could either choose to leave a specific amount or a percentage of the rest of your estate (this could be as little as 1%). Every gift left to Cobalt will be help to ensure that we are able to continue to provide our vital equipment and services for future generations.

Lives are touched when Cobalt is included in a will

A gift in your will to Cobalt

Our special supporter Lynne shared that she has chosen to leave a gift in her will to Cobalt because “It is a worthwhile cause and we are extremely fortunate to have it, but for it’s continuation and development it needs our support.”

"We are delighted to be supporting Cobalt yet again this year with their make a will campaign. Many people are reluctant to make a will. We understand it can be an uncomfortable thing to think about but the truth is, not having a will can cause real deprivation, delay and distress for your loved ones when you pass away. Your will covers all of your estate; this doesn’t just mean things like property but also bank accounts, investments, business interests and personal belongings. Often it is the smaller items that hold the most sentimental value to those left behind. We recommend people, no matter what age or stage of life, complete a will to safeguard for the future. Having it drawn up by qualified professionals will ensure that your will is valid and reflective of your wishes.”
