Local businesses to bounce into action for Cobalt
28th August 2019
Gloucestershire PR agency 10 Yetis, Cotswold District Council, Keith Holland Opticians, Endsleigh Insurance and IRESS are all geared up for fun at the Inflatable 5k obstacle event. By taking part, all 71 of them will be showing support for the charity’s Teenage and Young Adult cancer Nurse (TYA Nurse), Megan Willsher, who cares for all 16 – 25 year olds with cancer in the counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Kirsty Bradbury, Fundraising Engagement Officer, Cobalt said “We have been bowled over by the support for this event and places have now sold out. With 15 gigantic obstacles, this promises to be the biggest Inflatable 5k obstacle event ever created. Go online to look at the teams’ donations page https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/TeamCobaltInflatable5K and help them towards event target of £2,000 if you can”.
Megan Willsher, Teenage and Young Adult with Cancer Nurse said “As part of ‘Team Cobalt’, supporters taking part in the inflatable 5K will contribute towards funding my post as Cobalt’s Teenage and Young Adult with Cancer Nurse. I’m a specialist nurse for teenagers and young adults, aged 16-25 years with cancer. It’s only over recent years, that healthcare professionals have recognised that this patient population are neglected and vulnerable and if they do get cancer that they have different needs to adults and children”.
The event is organised into staggered waves and Team Cobalt will be setting off at 12.45pm. Runners set off every 15 minutes. Upon completion of the Inflatable 5k participants will get some awesome finish line bling including a medal, neck buff and pair of socks!
