Local hairdresser holds 24 hour cutathon for Cobalt
28th April 2017
Haircuts will soon be on offer for night owls and early birds as Head Stylist Ryan Fortey at hair salon Head Kandy based in Gloucester Docks holds a 24 hour cutathon in aid of Cobalt. From 9am Monday 15 May to 9am Tuesday 16 May, customers will be able to get cuts and styling with Head Stylist, Ryan Fortey who has run the sponsored event for 18 years following the loss of his mother Susan Fortey to breast cancer. Clients will pay the normal price for their hair but all proceeds will be donated to the charity.
Ryan Fortey, Head Stylist, Head Kandy said “Sadly, everyone knows someone touched by cancer. It is 18 years since my mum died to cancer. Now my dad is now in a similar position and I want to do my bit to raise vital funds for Cobalt. I believe in the incredible work that they do. To book an appointment with me, either pop into the salon or call 01452 422262. I’ll have sponsorship forms available if you just wish to donate. Appointments get booked up fast so get in touch soon”.
Kirsty Bradbury, Fundraising Engagement Officer, Cobalt said “Following the devastating loss of his mum, Ryan has been a stalwart supporter of Cobalt raising thousands of pounds over the past 18 years. The cutathon is a fantastic idea. Everyone loves to be pampered and we often don’t have time with work and other commitments. If you work shifts and finish early hours of the morning or late at night, appointments will be available throughout 24 hours.”
Head Kandy is located on The Barge Arm East, Gloucester Docks.
