PET/CT injector — FUNDING ACHIEVED

PETCT injector

Medical charity Cobalt has been established for nearly 60 years and has a strong history of achievement and pioneering innovation. The Charity provides the NHS PET/CT service for Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

PET/CT scans are primarily used to investigate confirmed cases of cancer to determine how far cancer has spread, how well it is responding to treatment and to help plan for operations.

We are thrilled to have achieved our fundraising target of £57,000 and have now purchased the new PET/CT injector. The equipment is state of the art and enables doctors to see the smallest lesions. This equipment works alongside the scanner.

Injectors help to manage when, how much and at what rate a contrast agent is administered through the vein while an image is captured and will help to ensure the very best service for patients.

We are grateful to all our donors and for the support from the Clive Richards Foundation, Hobson Charity and E F Bulmer Trust.
