Medical charity Cobalt has invested £2.6m in a new Siemens Biograph Vision digital PET/CT and the expansion of its PET/CT department. 

This allows the charity to keep up with the ever-growing demand for PET/CT imaging and meet the demand for scanning patients within five days of receiving a patient referral. 

The new Vision PET/CT can reduce scan times by up to 40%, therefore providing more capacity without the need to add a second PET/CT scanner, and of course, providing a better patient experience.

To facilitate the increase in patients, Cobalt also had to expand its PET/CT department to provide more patient uptake rooms. It has increased from three rooms to six.
