We accept referrals from medical practitioners i.e. consultants and GPs, physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, extended scope practitioners and dentists. Sports massage therapists who wish to refer for MRI must have the appropriate qualifications.
Any patient referral needs to be within Cobalt’s Referrers Scope of Practice.
We provide mobile MRI, CT, and PET/CT services for hire. Our fleet of modern, low-dose CT scanners can be equipped with supporting units including reception, waiting and consultation areas. Our modern mobile 1.5 and 3.0 Tesla MRI scanners also provide mobile services to NHS Trusts throughout the UK.
Our expert caring staff are particularly experienced in helping claustrophobic patients successfully complete their scans. In the unlikely event that the patient is unable to tolerate the scan, no charge will be made.
Cobalt offers low-cost, rapid-access appointments. Affordable pricing starts at just £320 for a 1-part MRI scan, £430 for a 1-part CT scan, and £1,070 for a PET/CT scan.

Cobalt is currently contributing to 30+ research projects and we run a series of Orthopaedic and Oncology evening education events for medical professionals.
We have a dedicated Research Group led by Professor Iain Lyburn and a Research Committee whose members include several highly regarded clinicians working within the research fields of dementia and oncology. The committee reviews current projects, as well as considers any other innovations or new exciting projects, which may have been presented to us. Most recently this has resulted in an exciting project using AI in PET/CT.
Cobalt delivers a range of free online education events with a focus on diagnostic imaging.
