Henry Salvini has come up with a novel way to fundraise for medical charity Cobalt whilst training to take part in the Yorkshire marathon later this year. He is busy baking and selling delicious loaves of bread.

Student nurse Henry is in his first year of studying at the University of Huddersfield for a Masters’ degree in Adult Nursing. Prior to this Henry worked at one of Cobalt Health’s MRI facilities in Birmingham, where the staff were really supportive and helped him build a portfolio that enabled Henry to apply for a nursing degree. The charity operates lung cancer screening in Leeds, Bradford and North Kirklees.

Henry said “I had such an amazing time with Cobalt and met some fantastic radiologists, who worked with me to prepare for the university interviews and even celebrated with me when I got in! I am extremely grateful for an opportunity to raise some money for this wonderful charity.”

Kirsty Bradbury, Fundraising Engagement Officer, Cobalt said “Henry’s marathon challenge is not just running 26 miles, it is also baking hundreds of loaves of bread to raise funds. Please help Henry by donating the cost of a loaf or two; it’s a fine way to earn a decent crust!”
