Dave Burley

Adventurous charity supporter Dave Burley repeated the 52 mile run he last did back in 1984 for Cobalt but on two wheels this time. Although still a keen long distance runner, aged 73, Dave completed the route by bike this year starting out at Malvern College and travelling through Upton-on-Severn, Ashton-Under-Hill and Pershore, returning to his home in Malvern.

A big thank you to Joe Jepps

Joe has been completing a 10 for 10 challenge in memory of his friend Paige and his mother who he lost to breast cancer.  Joe's last challenge was number 7 out of 10, a 21km Run, 42km Cycle and 10km Run.

Thanks Matt for keeping up the running

Matt Burke, local Sainsbury's Manager has continued with his efforts marathon training despite the Edinburgh Marathon being postponed.

Staff from the Cheltenham office of global technology company Iress have fundraised the purchase of a brand new laptop computer for Cobalt’s Teenage and Young Adults with Cancer (TYA) Specialist Nurse, Megan Wilsher.

The Eveson Charitable Trust

Since 2007, The Eveson Charitable Trust has awarded seven grants totalling £70,000 to support Cobalt’s important work in providing diagnostic scans and, more recently, the dementia research nurses.




Heather Jones 'Baldies for Boobies'

Heather and four friends braved the shave for our Gloucestershire Breast Cancer Equipment Appeal to purchase new 3D mammography equipment for the Thirlestaine Breast Centre in Gloucestershire raising over £8,500!

Swapping their scissors for clippers four hairdressers shaved the heads of no less than 14 plucky volunteers.

Cobalt Supporter Heather Jones was joined by Meraki Hairdressing, friends and family at The Bell Inn, Redbrook for the event.

Maggie McDivett - Broadway Golf Club

Broadway Golf Club raised a fantastic £2,000 for us. Thank you!

Philip Pinchin

Keen climber Philip Pinchin scaled the heights of the sixth highest mountain to set about raising thousands of pounds for local medical charity Cobalt and raised further funds with a whisky tasting.  Philip has raised over £2,500 so far. 

Lily's Skydive

Lily Willcocks and her two brothers, Ollie & Joe, took part in a skydive  to raise money for us.  The trio jumped from a plane at 15,000 feet in support of the Gloucestershire Breast Cancer Equipment Appeal. They have raised over £2,500 so far. Fantastic!

Chipping Campden School

Chipping Campden School raised over £1,700  through their pink dress down day and cake sale. 


Completed the Three Peaks Challenge and  provided a garden makeover to enable dementia patients to get outdoors and enjoy a safe and relaxing environment.  They have raised over £6,400 which is amazing. Thank you!

Nailsworth and Woodchester Support Group

Nailsworth and Woodchester Support Group handed us a donation of over £10,190 at an event in February hosted by the Royal Oak, Woodchester.  The donation follows a year of fundraising including money raised by Stroud Vintage Transport & Engine Club who host the annual Gloucestershire Vintage and Country Extravaganza in South Cerney, the Royal Oak, Woodchester and donations made from Arthur’s Spring Stroll, an annual fundraising walk. In addition coffee mornings, the Nailsworth Goodwill Evening and collections of loose change all helped the group to reach the final figure.  Since they started fundraising in 1992, the group have raised a whopping £118,434 for Cobalt.

Coln Choir

Coln St Aldwyns Choir and friends raised over £7,000 for us with their Christmas concert.

Dr Fred Hanna's Family

The family of Dr Fred Hanna, Cobalt's founder raised over £12,000 running the Royal Parks, Central London Half Marathon.
