Make a will month 2023
During April, participating solicitors waived their fees for writing a will in lieu of a donation to Cobalt.
The scheme has now ended but if you would like more information please email helen.tomes@cobalthealth.co.uk
How it works:
The minimum donation for a basic single will is £150 and for a pair of basic mirror wills it is just £200 – this is a fraction of what you would typically pay for this service.
The scheme is designed around writing or updating a straightforward will. If you think your will might be more complicated, please discuss this with the solicitor in advance of your appointment to check if there will be any further cost implications. By using Cobalt’s make a will month scheme, your donation will help us to continue our pioneering cancer and dementia diagnosis and research work.
When planning your new will, once you have looked after your loved ones, please do consider including a gift to Cobalt – even a small percentage of your estate could help to make a big difference for future generations.
If you would like more information on the scheme or if you are considering including a gift to Cobalt in your will, please call 01242 535922 or email fundraising@cobalthealth.co.uk.

"We are delighted to be supporting Cobalt for the 11th year with their make a will campaign. Many people are reluctant to make a will. We understand it can be an uncomfortable thing to think about but the truth is, not having a will can cause real deprivation, delay and distress for your loved ones when you pass away. Your will covers all of your estate; this doesn’t just mean things like property but also bank accounts, investments, business interests and personal belongings. Often it is the smaller items that hold the most sentimental value to those left behind. We recommend people, no matter what age or stage of life, complete a will to safeguard for the future. Having it drawn up by qualified professionals will ensure that your will is valid and reflective of your wishes.”
